For the past twenty years, tournaments held along Italy’s Adriatic coast have served as a meeting point for teams from all over Europe – from Sweden to Sicily and France to Romania. The Trofeo Delfino continues this tradition each year in the beautiful coastal city of Pescara. Hundreds of teams take part in these classic events, drawn by the combination of top-level football and the vibrant Italian seaside atmosphere. The Trofeo Delfino offers a wide range of age categories, including U9, U10, and U11 playing 7-a-side matches of around 20 minutes, U12 teams playing 9-a-side matches of 2 x 15–20 minutes, and U13 and U15 teams playing traditional 11-a-side matches, with U13 matches lasting 2 x 20 minutes and U15 matches lasting 2 x 25 minutes. Each category usually hosts between 12 and 16 teams, ensuring a strong international field and plenty of matches through a group stage followed by playoff or placement rounds. Rolling substitutions are allowed in most age groups to encourage maximum participation and development.
