Description

The Marveld Tournament is an international youth football tournament organized by Grol football club. Youth teams (age category Under 15) from well-known professional clubs from the Netherlands and Europe, but also from other parts of the world, come to Groenlo every year to compete against each other. The first edition took place in 1990, at that time one day and with only De Graafschap as a professional football club. It has now grown into a four-day football event where the youth teams of top clubs such as Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV, AZ, FC Barcelona, ​​Real Madrid, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, RSC Anderlecht and Paris Saint-Germain are regular guests. Football teams from Brazil, Mexico, United States, Japan, Korea, Ghana and South Africa also like to come to Groenlo. A youth selection from the organizing association Grol participates annually and can compete against the football stars of the future.
